We believe in having a positive impact on people and the planet.
SARAH-JANE.CLARKE is a luxury travel brand inspired by simplicity and awareness. Informed by the love of discovering the world, we create small capsules with a minimal footprint.
We are all about luxurious fabrics in natural fibres in sun-bleached colours and neutral palettes. We create well-crafted pieces with a hint of drama designed to be loved and appreciated for life.
SARAH-JANE.CLARKE acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future traditional custodians and elders of our nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are committed to creating slow, thoughtful fashion with positive impact on people, place and planet through purposeful design and responsible, conscious sourcing and manufacturing. Our design philosophy centres on high-quality, well-crafted pieces with design-longevity.
Linen
Our European linen is OEKO TEX certified, an independent third-party certification system which evaluates the safety of textile products and accessories against more than 100 known or suspected harmful chemicals for people and planet. Flax – the plant that linen is made from – is extremely resilient and is able to grow in poor soil, relying on less water consumption than its cotton counterpart and contributing to less deforestation. The manufacturing process has traditionally used the flax plant in its entirety; nothing is wasted.
Silk
Silk is a naturally organic fibre. Little to no chemical pesticides or fertilisers are used during the manufacturing process, creating less water pollution and reducing the use of harmful chemicals. Silk is also naturally biodegradable.
Cotton
Our cotton is certified organic – grown without the use of chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilisers, and requiring less irrigation as it relies mostly on rainwater.
Packaging & Delievery
We use biodegradable shipping bags to safely package our online orders, and partner with Shippit and Australia Post for a carbon neutral delivery service.
SARAH-JANE.CLARKE continues to support manufacturing in Australia, including local pattern-makers, cutters, suppliers and sewers. Domestic manufacturing contributes to a healthy local economy, creates a smaller carbon footprint and contributes to less pollution.
When we choose to partner with off-shore factories, we prioritise the fair treatment and well-being of their employees.
Our manufacturers are selected and retained based on their commitment to quality product and their approach to animal welfare, energy efficiency, chemical and water use, plastic reduction and recycling.
Each SARAH-JANE.CLARKE garment is designed to be hand-washed in cold water, eliminating the requirement for any dry-cleaning chemicals, and reducing water usage and the energy consumption involved in heating water. We suggest an eco-friendly washing detergent such as Ms Brown delicate wash for silks, and Bon Savvy fabric wash for linens and cottons.
